Kaizer Chiefs-linked coach Kalisto Pasuwa cannot just stop breaking football records in Malawi. In the latest feat, the Zimbabwean has led FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to a record-extending seventh consecutive NBS Charity Shield triumph. Overall, it is his 14th trophy (including four Charity Shields) in the six seasons he has been with the Blantyre-based outfit since joining them from Harare-based Dynamos FC in 2018.

Latest feat for Kaizer Chiefs’ target Kalisto Pasuwa

On Saturday, Kalisto Pasuwa guided the TNM Super League champions, Bullets to a 7-6 post-match penalty win over Silver Strikers. The two teams had settled for a goalless draw in regulation time at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe before the penalties separated them. Goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu was the The People’s Team’s hero after he saved the last two post-match penalties. The game was a curtain-raiser for the 2024 season which gets underway this coming weekend in Malawi. It was a sweet win for the former Warriors man who outwitted former Black Leopards coach Peter Mponda, now in charge of Silver.

Kalisto Pasuwa’s record that should sway Kaizer Chiefs

The former Malawi captain left Lidoda Duvha last November after being at the helm of the Limpopo-based club for a few months. Now, the former Leopards skipper wants to challenge Kalisto Pasuwa who won all five trophies available in the TNM Super League in the last campaign. It is a record that should surely sway Kaizer Chiefs.

The former Warriors coach bagged the NBS Charity Shield, TNM Super League title, Airtel Top 8, FDH Cup, and the Castle Challenge Cup last season. Mponda has been tasked with wrestling the domestic Super League championship from the Chiefs hopeful. Such a clean sweep means that the 53-year-old Kalisto Pasuwa has won domestic league titles for nine consecutive seasons in his career, as he joined Bullets in 2018 after having claimed four consecutive league championships with Dynamos FC in Zimbabwe.

What ex-Sundowns star said about the Bullets coach

The accomplishments prompted former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Alois Bunjira to urge Chiefs to hire Kalisto Pasuwa. According to Goal.com, the ex-Bidvest Wits star felt his countryman was a perfect fit for the Glamour Boys who remain without a substantive coach following Molefi Ntseki’s exit last year. Calvin Johnson is in temporary charge of the Naturena-based outfit. However, the Mutare-born mentor told The Nation newspaper of Malawi that he will see through his contract with Bullets.

Agents responds to PSL interest

Earlier, Kalisto Pasuwa’s manager Gibson Mahachi earlier told The South African that Chiefs had not approached his client whose contract with Bullets runs until December 31, 2024.
