Kaizer Chiefs latest | I can handle the abuse from fans – Bernard Parker

Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker has spoken out about the criticism and abuse he is often subjected to whenever he’s on the pitch.

Parker, one of the underrated players in the country right now, appears to have rediscovered his old form under Stuart Baxter this season.

It was in the previous years when Parker struggled for form, and that led to a section of Amakhosi fans constantly calling for dismissal.

And Parker said he has never been bothered by the abuse and criticism from those Chiefs fans as he’s a strong person, adding that he can handle the abuse.

In fact, Parker said he adopted the same mentality that European players have, before adding that criticism actually pushes him to work even harder.

“I am just a strong person, that’s why I can handle the abuse. I always make sure that I control what I can control and let God control what’s out of my control,” Parker told Sowetan.

“I have never given up when things weren’t going well… I have never stopped working hard. The criticism isn’t bothering me,” he said.

“Actually, it pushes me to work even harder. You can see how much players are slated in Europe but they hardly get broken. So, I adopted that mentality,” added Parker.
