Kaizer Chiefs latest | Another short-term deal for out-of-contract veteran?

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly handed one of their out-of-contract veterans a short-term deal until the end of July 2021.

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly handed one of their out-of-contract veterans a short-term deal until the end of July 2021.

According to Soccer Laduma, Ramahlwe Mphahlele has been offered a one-month deal to be stay at Naturena for the remainder of the month.

This after his contract came to an end on 30 June, and Chiefs deciding his future be discussed after the CAF Champions League final.

Mphahlele becomes the second player to be offered a short-term deal in the current squad after Bernard Parker.

However, Mphahlele’s situation is different as Chiefs have an option to renew his contract for a further year but decided to put that on hold for now.

Both players are registered for CAF Champions League, and have had a role to play in Chiefs setting up a final date with Al Ahly.

Chiefs and Al Ahly face each other in the final at Stade Mohammed V in Morocco on 17 July.

Mphahlele has been with Chiefs for five years since his shock arrival from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016.

And while he was also part of the Sundowns CAF Champions League squad at the time, but he left before the team’s continental triumph in October 2016.
