Kaizer Chiefs talisman Khama Billiat appears to be facing a bleak future at the club as the management is reported to be reviewing it.

According to Soccer Laduma, the Chiefs hierarchy is undecided as to whether or not Billiat has a long-term future with the club.
Billiat has been with Chiefs for four years, and he is fast-approaching the final six months of his contract which would make him eligible to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice.

Now, what the Chiefs management should do is to try and move swiftly in deciding if Billiat’s services will be needed next season.
In the past, Chiefs used to leave it late to make decisions on players they want to retain and those that they no longer want so much so that they sometimes failed to keep their best players.

In 2020, Amakhosi dragged their feet in offering George Maluleka a new deal, and when they did, the midfielder had already signed a pre-contract with Mamelodi Sundowns.
SHOULD KAIZER CHIEFS RETAIN KHAMA BILLIAT BEYOND JUNE 2023?
As previously mentioned, Billiat has been with Chiefs for four years, meaning he would have spent five years at Naturena at the end of his contract.

To date, Billiat has featured in 121 competitive matches for Chiefs, and he has netted 24 goals, 14 of which came in his first season at Naturena while he has 27 assists to his name.
Billiat’s struggles since his first season with Chiefs are well-documented, but some would blame that to injuries and a lack of quality players around him at the time.

The arrival of Keagan Dolly, who is Amakhosi’s leading goalscorer since the start of last season with 10 goals, appears to have sparked Billiat back to life.
The Zimbabwean attacker is 32, and age is certainly not on his side as Chiefs recently embarked on a mass clearance where the majority of players over the age of 30 were released.
