Kaizer Chiefs: Full list of coaching candidates – UPDATED

With just a few weeks to go until Kaizer Chiefs appoint a new manager we look at the latest updated coaching shortlist.

We are now just a few weeks out from the huge appointment of the new Chiefs head coach. We know that they want to appoint an overseas-based coach. Therefore, this list focuses on the overseas targets.

Lets take a look at the list of candidates for the Amakhosi hotseat.

Amakhosi management have reignited interest in Nabi. Especially, since they have been so impressed with his his work with Moroccan outfit AS FAR.

“Speculation has suggested that Chiefs have taken note of Nabi’s work in Morocco and are considering ways of reviving their interest especially with rumours that the 58-year-old in not the happiest in North Africa,” the insider stated on KickOff.

Caneda, Pep Guardiola’s confidant, has been linked with an interest in the Chiefs job.

“It’s believed that Spanish coach Raul Caneda has shown an interest in the job, joining a list of coaches who are looking to take up arguably the hottest coaching seat in the PSL,” the report read on SoccerLaduma.

Finally, Belgian coach Vandenbroeck is the final currently overseas-based candidate linked with the Amakhosi job.

 “I am interested in both, coaching Simba or a club in the South African league,” Vandenbroeck responded when asked about Chiefs on iDiskiTimes.

WILDCARDS FOR AMAKHOSI VACANCY

Muhsin Ertugral has been reportedly linked with this job. However, this is purely speculation but he has gained experience overseas and has experience working with Amakhosi in the past.

Furthermore, recent rumours claim that Amakhosi management have been impressed with Johnson. Therefore, he may be in the running but this is also based off of claims and he was initially appointed as interim while management looks for a long-term coach to kickstart 2024.
