Kaizer Chiefs: Bafana Bafana man becomes main target! – Report

Kaizer Chiefs have reignited their interest in a Bafana Bafana target. Now, he has become a priority signing.

Bradley Cross’ was previously linked with Amakhosi last season. However, the move did not materialize.

Now, Chiefs have made a U-turn on their ambitions and they are keen to sign the Bafana Bafana defender yet again.

CHIEFS PRIORITIZE SIGNING BAFANA BAFANA DEFENDER

Chiefs have been monitoring Cross for a while now.

“It’s not the first time the team has inquired about Cross. They did it while he was still at Maritzburg United but they had other options which didn’t work out. Then the player joined Golden Arrows,” The source stated on SoccerLaduma.

Furthermore, they now feel they need another defender as they look for S’fiso Hlanti’s long-term with the club veteran entering the latter stages of his career.

“But when they look at their left back position and the players they have (available), they think they still need him. That’s why they are monitoring his progress at Arrows. I am not sure whether they want him for January or for the end of the season but there is huge interest from the club in him,” he said.

Cross is the main focus amongst several players being looked at as potential long-term replacements for Hlanti.

“But they want to be sure and certain that they have a left back ready to when Hlanti leaves and their main focus is on Bradley (Cross). Yes, they have other options as well so it will depend on whether the talks go well at the end of the day,” the source added.

NEW COACH SET TO BRING IN REINFORCEMENTS

Chiefs are currently looking at bringing in a striker, goalkeeper and left back.

Meanwhile, they are also monitoring a couple of midfielders. All the players being monitored and considered will be presented by the technical team to the new coach. Thereafter, he will decide on who he is interested in as well as bringing in his targets.
