Bafana Bafana icon Doctor Khumalo has picked THIS Kaizer Chiefs player as his second best goalkeeper in South Africa after Ronwen Williams.

In his analysis on SABC Sport’s SoccerZone Xtra, Khumalo is convinced that Brandon Petersen has all the qualities needed to be rated among the best in the country.

This despite the costly mistakes that Petersen has made at Chiefs so far this season, and his continued snub from Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.

Khumalo said his opinion has nothing to do with the fact that he’s previously interacted with Petersen but purely on his performances on the pitch.

Furthermore, the legendary Chiefs midfielder is impressed with Petersen’s leadership and discipline, and feels it’s unfortunate that he’s been overlooked by Broos.

DOCTOR KHUMALO PICKS KAIZER CHIEFS’ PETERSEN AS HIS SECOND BEST ‘KEEPER IN SA

“It’s not because I had the advantage of seeing or talking to the boy (Petersen), but I have seen what he’s capable of,” said Khumalo.

“In him, you get leadership, in him, you get a disciplined player. Look at the saves that he’s making… you can see that this player is a fully-fleshed goalkeeper.

“Of course, he might have made some costly mistakes but at the moment, for me, this might be my second best goalkeeper in South Africa,” added Khumalo.
