Kaizer Chiefs will reportedly let Caleb Bimenyimana leave before the start of the 2023-24 campaign, according to reports.

Kaizer Chiefs journey for Caleb is over

According to Lorenz Kohler of iDiski Times, Amakhosi have received a concrete offer for the 25-year-old Burundian striker from Wydad Casablanca. There’s also reported interest from Poland’s top-flight, the Ekstraklasa.

Caleb has fallen down the pecking order

Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana started his debut season strongly but fell away at the back-end of 2022-23. With just one goal since the turn of the year, against Casric in the Nedbank Cup round of 16, 2023 hasn’t been a good calendar year for him in a club jersey. He has, however, retained his place in the Burundi side and scored and assisted for them against Namibia in a recent AFCON qualifier.

Glamour Boys now relatively stacked in attack

Chiefs have recruited Pule Mmodi and Ranga Chivaviro to vie for places in attack alongside Ashley du Preez, Christian Saile and Mduduzi Shabalala. Bimenyimana would struggle for minutes in the first-team should he stick around. His fondest memory in a Chiefs jersey is likely the moment he scored a hat-trick of penalties against Stellenbosch, becoming the first ever PSL player to hit three successful spot-kicks in one match.
