Kaizer Chiefs move into CAF Champions League spot after Swallows win!

Kaizer Chiefs’ victory over Swallows at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday moved the Soweto giants into a CAF Champions League spot!

Kaizer Chiefs recorded a 3-1 victory over Swallows at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday to stretch their unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership to four matches.

Amakhosi went into the half-time break with a two-goal cushion thanks to late goals from Keagan Dolly (43rd minute) and Khama Billiat (45 +1 minute) and the latter would add to his tally after the break (53rd minute) before Swallows pulled one back through Lebohang Mokoena just past the hour mark (63rd minute).

However, Swallows were unable to push on and reduce the deficit further as Kaizer Chiefs held on to claim all three points.

Kaizer Chiefs trail Mamelodi Sundowns by 8 points

The win moved the Glamour Boys into second place in the standings with 22 points after 13 matches.

They trail log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by eight points and have played one more match.

If the season were to end today, Amakhosi would claim a coveted CAF Champions League spot – along with the Brazilians – as they did the season before last.

Kaizer Chiefs will next be in action at home against 10th-placed Cape Town City FC on Saturday, 4 December at 18:00.
