This widely respected Amakhosi legend wants to take charge of Bafana Bafana. Will the ex-Chiefs midfielder coach South Africa?

A certain well-known Kaizer Chiefs legend wants to coach Bafana Bafana. Could we see this Amakhosi legend take charge of South Africa in the future?

Amakhosi legend Reneilwe Letsholonyane wants to coach the senior national team in the future.

In fact, that is his main goal. Moreover, ‘Yeye’ is currently the assistant coach for the under-20 national side.

CHIEFS LEGEND SEES HIMSELF AS FUTURE BAFANA COACH

Letsholonyane’s vision is clear. He wants to climb the coaching ranks in SA with the end goal of taking charge of the national team.

“My ambitions, obviously as a young coach now, is in the near future to be a Bafana Bafana coach – but the journey starts somewhere, and currently I’m the assistant coach for the U20 national team,” Letsholonyane told SABCSport during an interview.

Furthermore, the Amakhosi legend is a Bafana Bafana icon, having represented the national side over 50 times. Most noticeably, he featured in the 2010 FIFA World Cup hosted in South Africa.

Therefore, the national team is very close to his heart.

LETSHOLONYANE PRAISES NATIONAL SIDES AFCON SHOWING

The former Amakhosi and Bafana Bafana midfielder was really proud and buoyant about SA’s third-place finish in the recent Afcon in Ivory Coast.

“I think it was one of our best tournaments, considering that we haven’t been qualifying for tournaments, and when we are there, we haven’t been going through the knockout stages,” he added on Phakaaati.
