Kaizer Chiefs fan favourite Ashley du Preez is on the comeback trail but it’s still a while until we see him on the pitch for the Glamour Boys again.

BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs star playing for his future?

REVEALED: Is this the Amakhosi transfer shortlist for January

Chiefs told their fans that Ashley Du Preez will only return to full training at the end of next month.

“According to my medical report, he will return at the end of December,” the report added.

“There are good signs; Ashley is out on the pitch and running a little bit. According to the medical report that I have, he will return at the end of December,”

Realistically speaking, we might only see him in the black & gold again in February. Chiefs face Polokwane on December 9th, Richards Bay on the 23rd and then Sekhukhune on the 30th. Their next match after that is on February 13th against TS Galaxy.

Du Preez has five goals across all competitions this term but only one in the DStv Premiership. So far, Amakhosi have scored just 13 goals in 13 league outings. Last term they mustered 32 in 30 PSL matches, a meagre average of only 1.07 goals per game. That’s certainly not good enough to mount anything close to a title challenge. Will they dip into the market in January yet again or bank on Du Preez? Amakhosi face Polokwane City next on Saturday 9 December.
