Kaizer Chiefs return to DStv Premiership action this evening when they visit Stellenbosch FC at the Danie Craven Stadium.

The Glamour Boys will be desperate to get their post Stuart Baxter era off to a winning start after he was abruptly sacked by the Naturena based club during the week.

It has since been confirmed that the Glamour Boys will have a NEW, but not unfamiliar, face taking charge of the side this evening.

The Glamour Boys have placed assistant coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard in charge of tonight’s clash against Stellenbosch.

“Assistant coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will take charge of the senior team for the remainder of the season, starting with the next match against Stellenbosch FC on Saturday.” a club statement revealed.

The role WON’T be new to Arthur Zwane who has already taken charge of Kaizer Chiefs on seven previous occasions.

The former Amakhosi winger has only tasted defeat once while being in charge of the Glamour Boys. He’s won five matches while the remaining one match ended in a draw.

Kaizer Chiefs WILL rebuild against Stellies – Ngezana

“We will rebuild against Stellenbosch. We hope to finish the season on a high note, that’s the only thing we can do now.” Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana told the club’s media team.

“The Stellenbosch game will be crucial for us. It’s an away game, but we are looking to return home with three points. We shouldn’t have lost the last game.

“But it’s a learning curve for us. We created a lot of chances, but it was one of those days when luck was not on Kaizer Chiefs’ side. They created only two chances and managed to convert one of the chances they had.

“There was a lack of concentration on our part and we could have defended better as defenders. They caught us out of position and scored.

“Now (against Stellenbosch) we need to rectify our mistakes. If we manage to keep a clean sheet at the back, we would be doing our job as Defenders.

“I’m pushing myself hard to be consistent and to help Kaizer Chiefs to win games. It is up to me to push myself and things will fall into place.”

Action at the Danie Craven Stadium gets underway at 17:00. The match will be televised live on SuperSport PSL.
