Kaizer Chiefs close in on Njabulo Blom’s replacement – report

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly agreed personal terms to sign a Venezuelan star who is seen as a direct replacement for Njabulo Blom.

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly agreed personal terms to sign a Venezuelan star who is seen as a direct replacement for Njabulo Blom.

According to a report by iDiski Times, Edson Castillo is on his way to Naturena to seal a deal with Chiefs.

Castillo, 29, is currently on the books of Monagas who he joined on a short-term deal until 30 June, meaning he will soon be a free agent.

CASTILLO NEWS COMES AT A TIME WHEN KAIZER CHIEFS ARE IN TALKS WITH NABI

The news of Castillo agreeing terms with Chiefs comes at a time when the club is in talks with Yanga SC coach Nasreddine Nabi.

With Chiefs and Nabi locked in negotiations over the head coaching role at Naturena, his terms have now been revealed.

As reported on The South African website on Monday, Chiefs offered the Yanga SC coach the job and personal terms are believed to be the only thing standing in the way.

While the issues of salary, contract length and incentives are part of the said personal terms, iDiski Times reports that there is more.

According to the publication, Nabi wants to bring in his own backroom staff should he accept the Chiefs offer.

And that is believed to be part of the terms he’s proposed to the Chiefs manegement, and should the two parties agree, Nabi could be in the country next week to finalise the deal.

Furthermore, Nabi reportedly told his players at Yanga SC that he will be leaving the club when his contract expires on 30 June.

“Nasreddine Nabi wants to bring his own technical team should he agree to join Kaizer Chiefs as the successor to head coach Arthur Zwane.

“The Young Africans SC boss broke the news to his squad this weekend before their trophy parade that he will be leaving the Tanzanian giants at the end of his contract.

“The Amakhosi move has now seemingly come at the right time. But it comes with the Tunisian seeking his own assistant coach, a goalkeeper coach, and a strength and conditioning coach to be hired with him, should he be appointed as the man to lead the Soweto giants next season.”
