Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has offered advice to the Buccaneers’ in-form winger Monnapule Saleng.

The 24-year-old returned to the Soweto giants at the start of the season from Swallows where he was on loan for the whole previous campaign.

The former Free State Stars man has already found his way into many Bucs supporters’ hearts following his stand-out performances lately.

He bagged braces in back-to-back matches against Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns and Riveiro has advised him to stay humble.

RIVEIRO ON SALENG

“The progression of the boy that you mention [Saleng], well, it’s there,” Riveiro said as quoted by KickOff.

“I think you can see the way he’s coming week after week. The key for him now and for us, is to stay humble. To understand that this is just one game that gives us the right to be in one final.

“Tomorrow [Monday] we start again, all of them [Pirates players] the best ones today and the ones that didn’t play. We go together.”

Saleng will be one of the key players when Orlando Pirates square off against Kaizer Chiefs in the league Soweto derby on Saturday at FNB Stadium.

Kick-off will be at 15:30.
