Maswanganyi is happy to assist

25-year-old Patrick Maswanganyi has made just six appearances for Orlando Pirates but already directly contributed to five goals. Three of those have been assists, with the former SuperSport man clearly thriving in the famed “number 10” role. Relebohile Mofokeng has had to operate in wide areas or even spend time on the bench because of Maswanganyi’s form. He’s picked up back-to-back Man of the Match awards, with a brace of assists against Stellenbosch on Sunday.

Pirates banking on Lepasa

Meanwhile, Maswanganyi’s 26-year-old teammate Zakhele Lepasa is the first PSL player to hit double figures for goals across all competitions this season. Pirates trio in the Bafana Bafana squad

Next up for Pirates are matches across two competitions, first against Jwaneng Galaxy in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round. Then they meet strugglers Cape Town Spurs in the DStv Premiership. Before all of that, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Thabiso Monyane, Innocent Maela, Monnapule Saleng and Lepasa all play friendlies for Bafana Bafana against DR Congo and Namibia.
