First PSL coach bites the dust – report

The 2023-24 PSL season is still in its early stages but there is a coach who’s already unemployed, according to SABC Sport.

The 2023-24 PSL season is still in its early stages but there is a coach who’s already unemployed, according to SABC Sport.

The publication reports that Golden Arrows co-coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi has ‘vacated’ his position effective immediately.

This despite Arrows sitting comfortably in second place on the DStv Premiership log with 10 points from five matches.

At this stages, it’s unclear what led to Vilakazi ‘vacating’ his position, and this means Mabhuti Khenyeza will now lead Arrows alone.

Vilakazi had been at Arrows all his professional football life both as a player and coach – he made his debut in 2006.

The now 40-year-old mentor retired in 2015 and transitioned into coaching. He started his coaching with the Golden Arrows development.
