Kaizer Chiefs skipper Itumeleng Khune is a veteran of 30 Soweto Derby matches against old foes Orlando Pirates. He’s back in the dressing room this weekend, and he’s also back in shape.


KHUNE IS BACK

As spotted on Football SA’s Facebook account, Khune has been keeping in shape solo, away from the squad, getting some cardio in on the roads. The linked image was captured on Monday, showing the goalkeeper going through his paces and getting some cardio under the belt. It looks as though he’s been using his time wisely. He;s also been in the gym:

ITU’S RECORD FOR KAIZER CHIEFS IN THE SOWETO DERBY

Itu Khune was 20 when he made his first Soweto Derby appearance, an entertaining 2-2 draw in 2007. All told he’s now appeared in the showpiece 30 times. He’s won nine of those, lost eight of them and seen 13 clashes end all square.
