Former Kaizer Chiefs striker to pocket around R6 million after joining Libyan giants Al-Ahly SC Benghazi.

Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana has found his new home after parting ways with Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Undoubtedly, he has been making all sorts of headlines during the transfer window, from a failed move by Wydad Athletic Club to partying ways through mutual consent with Amakhosi.

Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana is the latest star to join Al-Ahly SC Benghazi on a two-year deal that was sealed in Tunisia by CEO Fathi Al Jali. Reports indicate that Caleb Bimenyimana was also registered in time for the Libyan Premier League.

The deal will see the star pocketing around R6 million. The deal’s structure is unknown, but the star’s package could reach R6 million. However, his appearance in CAF might take some time since he has yet to be registered by the club.

Al Ahly Benghazi recently knocked out Enyimba out of CAF.

The star made 21 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs, starting 17 and coming from the bench four times. He managed to net eight goals during his stint in the DStv Premier League.

However, the news of his move has since sparked a debate about whether Caleb Bimenyimana is worth that much or if he has a good agent who knows how to negotiate.

Some comments flooded social media after the news of his transfer was confirmed.

Osborn Ma Ons Mhlongo commented: “Meaning he will be earning 250k per month n after tax he will go home with 200k… It’s not bad compared to type of player he is. Mr. Penalty.”

Kgaogelo Phofa posted: It’s an improvement from the previous club.”
