Fans give Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez love
Ashley Du Preez’s brace was not enough as Kaizer Chiefs were beaten 3-2 by Orlando Pirates on Saturday afternoon.

Kaizer Chiefs fans were full of praise for Ashley Du Preez following his brace against Orlando Pirates on Saturday afternoon.
The 26-year-old scored twice for Amakhosi in their 3-2 defeat against Buccaneers at the FNB Stadium.
Before the Soweto Derby, the former Stellenbosch FC forward was heavily criticised for his lack of goals this season. Against Royal AM, Du Preez struggled to convert several scoring opportunities to the irritation of Kaizer Chiefs fans.
It surprised some fans when Cavin Johnson decided to start with striker ahead of Wandile Duba, who scored Amakhosi’s winner against Golden Arrows.
Ashley Du Preez opened the scoring in the sixth minute after a through ball from Mduduzi Mdantsane in the middle of the park.
After the goal, the Buccaneers dominated the game and were rewarded in the 24th minute when Monnapule Saleng unleashed a left-foot strike to beat Bruce Bvuma.

The Sea Robbers then continued to pressure their rivals but couldn’t find the lead despite several attempts. With Pirates on the attack, Chiefs hit back on a counter and Du Preez found his second.
In the second half, Pirates came back and scored two goals to win the derby 3-2.
