Kaizer Chiefs made headlines for releasing some of their DStv Diski Challenge players earlier this season.

These were not just any youth players, but some prominent Chiefs players including DDC captain Omega Mdaka

Mdaka, who is a left-back, was joined on the Chiefs exit list by right-back Puso Dithejane. Chiefs released both the former skipper and the Bafana Bafana international for ill discipline. This stemming from the duo being part of the DDC contingent that refused to do ball boy duties for the first team.

While Mdaka is yet to find a new club since leaving Chiefs, Dithejane, was never going to struggle. He swiftly found a new home in TS Galaxy. It seemed as if Mdaka would also not have to wait long for a new home, being invited by AmaZulu. According to reports, he was offered another reserve team contract at Usuthu, but opted against signing it. Now, it seems like that could’ve been his best chance.

This is because, according to The Citizen, Mdaka is not finding any luck finding another opportunity after leaving Chiefs.

Mdaka has no offers after leaving Chiefs

“I think Mdaka made a huge mistake by not going back to Chiefs when he was allowed to. Now nothing seems to be going right for him. When you look at what happened with Puso, you can see that TS Galaxy have been monitoring him because they didn’t waste time in signing him. Mdaka is now out there without a team. It looked promising when AmaZulu invited him so that they could assess him. Unfortunately, things didn’t go according to plan. He was so disappointed because he honestly thought his stress of finding a new club was over. There is some team that promised to sign him, but they ended up signing another player. But, he is now trying everything to keep fit, training and playing some friendly games with the hope that he will be called somewhere.”said the source.

Mdaka, who is only 20 still has plenty of time to resurrect his career either in the top flight or lower divisions. One thing is for sure though, it looks as if he may be regretting leaving Chiefs.
