Dove isn’t a stranger to DStv Premiership having played for Cape Town City between 2017 and 2022 before he returned to his home country Mozambique in January.

The 28-year-old felt honoured after being granted another opportunity by a South African club.

Kaizer Chiefs won the match 2-1 to move to ninth in the standings.

“It’s another opportunity given for me to come back to South Africa,” Dove told SuperSport TV.

“You know this place I call my second home and coming to Kaizer Chiefs, for me, it’s an honour to be here getting stuck in with the gents.

“And of course I knows it was not gonna be an easy game playing against SuperSport, they have a very good team, playing with those long balls and we had to deal with it.

“But I mean what matters the most is getting the results and that’s all we wanted to keep going.”

Dove felt he was able to fulfill the task given to him by his coach Arthur Zwane, but added that he’s looking to refine his performance going forward.

“Yeah, of course, we have been discussing that during the week when the coach spoke to me because we used to play we two right-footed centre-backs, so we wanted to balance at the back, having one right-footed and left-footed for when I receive the ball on the left I can find those pockets in the middle,” Dove added.

“And I guess, a few passes went okay but there is still a room for improvement of course and we keep grinding, that’s what we gonna do when we go back back to training on Monday.”
