Mamelodi Sundowns took a giant step towards winning a fifth consecutive PSL title on Tuesday when they hammered Golden Arrows 6-0 at Loftus Versfeld.

The Brazilians’ win included a hat-trick by red-hot Peter Shalulile who has now scored 21 league goals this season as he targets Collins Mbesuma’s all-time record of 25 goals in a season.

In other DStv Premiership matches played on Tuesday, Baroka FC and Orlando Pirates played to a goalless draw in Polokwane, while Maritzburg United and Swallows drew their clash 1-1.

Mamelodi Sundowns lead the standings with 57 points after 25 matches. They are 14 points ahead of nearest challengers Royal AM, who do have one match in hand.

At the bottom of the log, Baroka FC still occupy 16th – and last – place with just five matches remaining for Bakgakga to find a way out of the relegation zone.
