Property mogul Dr Mike Nkuna has set the record straight on rumours that he’s intending to buy Kaizer Chiefs from the Motaung family.

Reports have been circulating on social media that Nkuna is willing to take over this most powerful institution in the South African football.

This comes at a time when millions of Chiefs fans are unhappy with the club following a series of poor results.

The nine-year trophy drought has led to some believing that Dr Kaizer Motaung and his family no longer have the interest of Chiefs at heart.

However, Dr Nkuna said what has been reported about him buying Chiefs are false.

Nkuna said in a statement that he remains a committed board member of Amakhosi, and has no intention to be a football administrator.

“He has expressed his reluctance for any administration [role] of the Kaizer Chiefs F.C., thus refuting the assertion to bring in players and new management.

“Noteworthy, Dr Nkuna remains a committed board member of Kaizer Chiefs F.C while his primary focus is on property development.”
