At the beginning of this year, 17-year-old Prince Ndlovu already spent two weeks training with Pirates as he waited for a Croatian visa, and then again in March it was suggested that he was going to spend more time with the Buccaneers.

The exciting midfielder, who has been with Zimbabwean club Highlanders, was due to fly into South Africa during the latter parts of March to once again spend time under assessment with the Buccaneers.

The teenager had previously been in line for a a month-long trial stint in Croatia with second-tier club HNK Vukovar, but this ultimately fell through due to visa issues.

So what’s the latest on the Pirates trialist?

Zimbabwean giants Highlanders Football Club have provided an update, stating that the youngster has now headed to Europe, with every indication implying that he is still looking for a ‘home’.

“Prince Ndhlovu has arrived for trials at SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz of Austria. We wish him the best of luck. May he continue flying the Highlanders FC and National flag high,” the club said on its social media platforms.

By all accounts, a deal with Pirates has not materialised, with the club clearly looking at other options as they begin to finalise their recruitment strategy for next season.
