Goodman Mosele has been signed by Chippa United on a loan deal from Orlando Pirates for the 2023/24 season.

Pirates had previously announced the news on their website earlier this week, even if they didn’t share it on their social media accounts.

In July 2021, Mosele transferred from Baroka to Pirates, and has since made 46 appearances for the Soweto Giants.

Under Jose Riveiro, he played in 15 games, although it has been notable in his absence from the XI since February 2023.

After securing the registrations of Augustine Mulenga, Luvuyo Memela, Menzi Ndwandwe, and Martin, he becomes Chippa’s fifth new player.

Baraka Majogoro, a midfielder for Tanzania, is also on the verge of joining Chippa United ahead of the next campaign.

Thabang Monare and Ben Motshwari, two seasoned midfielders who bypassed Mosele in the hierarchy towards the conclusion of the last campaign, have been granted contract extensions, according to Orlando Pirates.

Mosele faced heavy competition for a place in the Buccaneers lineup, with a Bucs squad that also included Miguel Timm and Makhehleni Makhaula, and the move goes ahead despite the fact that their itinerary now includes the CAF Champions League this year.

Before the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, Mosele will be aiming to bounce back and put himself forward for a spot in the Bafana lineup. A loan transfer might just enable him do that.
