Some Kaizer Chiefs fans are calling for Arthur Zwane to be recalled as coach and replace Cavin Johnson for the remainder of the season.
Zwane coached Amakhosi during the 2022/23 season but failed to win any silverware with the club only finishing fifth. He was replaced with Molefi Ntseki before the start of the current season.
Ntseki only survived four months in the hot seat before Johnson took over the reins. Chiefs appeared to be improving since Johnson arrived but the ex-Platinum Stars mentor has since struggled in the second half of the season, winning only once in eight matches.
With Chiefs battling for the top-eight spot, some fans have asked Arthur Zwane to take over from Johnson. Under ‘10111’, the Glamour Boys finished fifth and at times looked positive and organised.
Zwane has had the most success winning 17 out of his 37 matches in charge out of the four previous coaches.
In recent weeks, fans have questioned Johson’s tactics and leadership. Following their 3-2 defeat to Orlando Pirates last month, Amakhosi keeper Brandon Petersen was seen having a heated exchange with his coach. The keeper also appeared to be giving instructions to players from the touchline.
Chiefs are currently in search of a new coach but some supporters want Arthur Zwane to replace Johnson.

Arthur Zwane to replace Cavin Johnson as Chiefs coach?
Johnson has admitted he has had a tough season following back-to-back defeats this month.
“It’s very difficult to reflect on that [the form]. Like you said, it’s the first time losing back-to-back games. We need to look at how we lost and how we conceded,” Johnson told the media.
“We need to understand also where we coming from and what lies ahead for us. We have to take ourselves out of this position so that we can give our supporters a fresh breath of air.”
Arthur Zwane is still part of Chiefs development and if the club needs change, he could take over from Johnson.
