Cape Town City go in search of their first win in five games when they host Baroka FC on Sunday. Kick off is at 15:30.

The Citizens have had a dreadful run in the PSL of late. They’ve managed just 13 points from their 15 matches and are hovering in 15th spot on the PSL log and level on points with bottom-placed Polokwane City.

Visiting them is a Baroka FC side who hasn’t done much better this season. Baroka have taken just 14 points from their 15 games.

The visitors might have to head into the clash without a head coach. They recently appointed Dylan Kerr, but he is still waiting to have his work permit finalised.

Cape Town City, meanwhile, will hope their recently appointed coach, Jan Olde Riekerink, will finally pay dividends. So far, he has managed two draws and two defeats.

The good news is that  striker Kermit Erasmus is likely to be back in contention after recovering from injury.

Midfielder Mpho Makola is also available for selection again. His six month ban was recently overturned. Ebrahim Seedat, however, is suspended. Several other players who have struggled with injury have also been declared fit, so coach Olde Riekerink could have a fully-fit squad at his disposal.

Whether they can find their mojo, having not played together for such an extended period, is another matter entirely.

Baroka last won a game in the league back in November, when they beat struggling Polokwane City 0-1.

Cape Town City’s last win came against the same opposition, however, that match saw eight goals in total, with The Citizens winning 5-3.

Kick-off time and prediction

Kick off time: 5 January, 15:30.

Prediction: Cape Town City FC are tipped as favourites with a 45% expected chance of winning. Baroka is given just a 33% expected chance of winning.
