Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly ready to go back to Orlando Pirates and test their resolve for another superstar!

In the January transfer window, Sundowns signed Thembinkosi Lorch from Pirates and could go back to Houghton!

Despite already cruising in the DStv Premiership, Sundowns were the most active side in the January window. The Brazilians already had a nine-point gap on second-placed Cape Town City, with three games in hand at the time. That did not stop them from pursuing a squad boost ahead of the second half of the season. Of course for them, they also have to factor in continental commitments with hopes of a Club FIFA World Cup.

Sundowns already wrapped up Adams deal

Now, with that on the horizon, Sundowns went and signed the Likes of Zukho Mdunyelwa and Matias Esquivel. Then, when everybody thought that they had strengthened enough, they added Thembinkosi Lorch and Tashreeq Matthews. The Rulani Mokwena-led side is showing no signs of slowing down on the transfer market ahead of next season. The South African News already understands that Masandawana has wrapped up a deal to sign Jayden Adams from Stellenbosch FC.

Now, according to Soccer-Laduma, Sundowns are also interested in on-form Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa!

Now focusing on signing Mabasa from Pirates

“Despite having failed in their attempt to land Tshegofatso Mabasa at the start of the season, Mamelodi Sundowns have rekindled their interest in the Orlando Pirates striker, the Siya Crew has learnt. The latest indications are that Sundowns are prepared to make yet another move for the player. This time, with the circumstances swaying slightly in their favour. Indications are that Pirates are prepared to talk to Sundowns over the possibility of signing the striker, with the player having entered the final year of his contract.” Wrote the publication.

With Mabasa in a rich vein of form for Pirates, it is hard to see them selling him to a rival like Sundowns. But with the Buccaneers also trying to make room to revamp their attack, anything is possible! Especially for the right price.
