It is no longer a secret that striker Caleb Bimenyimana is not part of the plans going forward at Chiefs, with the club looking to get rid of him.

Former head coach Arthur Zwane had often lamented the lack of finishing from his Chiefs side despite signing Ashley du Preez, Bimenyimana and Christian Saile last season. Now according to the latest reports, Chiefs are set to go through yet another revamp and this time more than just age, it will also be the overall contribution that will decided whether a player stays at Naturena for the next season or not. One of those players who is thought to have not had the desired effect is striker Bimenyimana.

Bimenyimana arrived at Chiefs, somewhat belatedly having been released after undergoing a trial during pre-season. It then seemed like a rather strange decision by Zwane and his Amakhosi management to sign a player who they initially did not see as a perfect fit for the club. Just last week, it was reported the Zwane had told the Burundian international in front of his teammates that he was not part of his plans going forward.

It was reported by this publication last month that Bimenyimana had turned down an offer from an unnamed Ukrainian club. It is now believed, however, that the player is one step closer to joining Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, in one of the biggest shocks of the window so far.

Chiefs and Wydad agree fee for Bimenyimana

“Kaizer Chiefs have accepted a bid from Wydad Atheltic Club for the transfer of striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana as his exit draws closer. Wydad opened talks for the player last week after it became clear they needed a new striker for the upcoming King Salman Cup where they are in Group B alongside Al Hilal, Al Sadd and Al Ahli Tripoli, which kicks off in two days. It’s believed Bouly Junior Sambou, who scored 20 goals in 41 games last season could be heading to Russia or Turkey before the end of the transfer window and Bimenyimana will fill his role as the lead number nine for the upcoming competition. While there’s been a back-and-forth on his valuation, the two sides agreed on a fee on Friday before the player received the green light to leave camp. Bimenyimana took the first possible flight out to Casablanca on Friday evening and met with his representatives in the North African state where they are currently in talks for personal terms with the Botola Pro giants.” Wrote iDiski Times.
