Kaizer Chiefs: Pitso Mosimane in, Arthur Zwane out?

Pitso Mosimane could still join Kaizer Chiefs. However, at a huge cost – to the technical team (being axed) and the club (financially).

Pitso Mosimane to Kaizer Chiefs remains a a possibility. However, it could come at a big cost to several men at the club.

As we know, Mosimane is about to become available. Simultaneously, Amakhosi are on the prowl for a new coach.

The stars are aligned for this dream move. However, it is not all sunshine and roses and the roses have thorns. If Mosimane does come to Chiefs, it will likely come at a big cost to the current technical staff.

MOSIMANE WOULD BRING HIS OWN TECHNICAL STAFF

One of Mosimane’s requirements when joining any side is that he brings his own technical staff with him.

Mosimane wants his own team, which he has dubbed the “Dream Team”. His team consists of assistant coach Maahier Davids, fitness trainer Kabelo Rangoaga, performance analysts Musi Matlaba, and Kyle Solomon. Meaning, several of Amakhosi’s technical team would face the axe. At the very least they would be dropped to junior sides. Davids joined Mosimane’s dream team towards the end of 2022 when he was in charge of Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, as reported on iDiskiTimes.

Therefore, Arthur Zwane, Dillon Sheppards, Muzi Maluleke and You-Sha Said are the men who may have to make way for his team. Interestingly. Said previously worked with Mosimane at Al Ahly. Furthermore, he was recently appointed, as reported on FarPost.

However, he is likely to favor his local team that have been with him at every club he has joined to date.

CHIEFS WILL HAVE TO PAY BIG MONEY, MAKE SOME CUTS

Furthermore, Mosimane is likely to cost the club a huge amount of money.

Given the fact that he has earned huge salaries recently with Al Abha (UAE) and Al Ahli (Saudi Arabia). Furthermore, he was reportedly earning big-money at Al Ahly in Egypt too. Therefore, the club may have to cut staff to afford him and reduce player salaries. In fact, Amakhosi are already set to offer a reduced-salary to one of their biggest stars. Moreover, SIX players are linked with EXITS out of Naturena.
