Khama Billiat enjoyed a glittering career in top-flight South African football, and not even an underwhelming stint with Kaizer Chiefs can detract from that. From Ajax to Sundowns to Naturena, this man dazzled South Africa.

SOWETO: A potentially fruitful alliance between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates

Billiat bowled out for 97

Billiat has notched 97 goals in the PSL era, so he’ll fall agonizingly short of joining the esteemed 100 club. Only seven players belong to that elite class, namely Siyabonga Nomvete, Daniel Mudau, Mabhuti Khanyeza, Tico-Tico Bucuane, Collins Mbesuma, Bradley Grobler and Peter Shalulile.

Kaizer Chiefs stint ends in disappointment

33-year-old Khama Billiat is a player of undoubted pedigree. He’s won three DStv Premiership crowns, a CAF Champions League title and numerous domestic cups. Add in his 17 goals in 51 Zimbabwe caps and you’re looking at an esteemed attacker. Officially the best player in the country in 2016, he’s been unable to replicate that excellence in a black & gold Glamour Boys jersey.

The next stop on Billiat’s journey, reportedly, takes him to Zamalek. Who knows, we could see him battling Orlando Pirates and former club Sundowns in continental competition this season.
