“Arthur Zwane might not be at Kaizer Chiefs’ last game”-report 

The Kaizer Chiefs hierarchy are believed to be divided in their backing of current head coach Arthur Zwane according to the latest reports.

The Kaizer Chiefs hierarchy are believed to be divided in their backing of current head coach Arthur Zwane according to the latest reports.

Zwane signed a three-year contract with Chiefs at the beginning of the season, and seemed to enjoy the full backing from those above him.

At the start of the Zwane-era Chiefs made a massive clear out, getting rid of some experienced players, some of which had not been able to lead Amakhosi to any silverware during their lengthy stays at the club.

A lot of the players that were released by Chiefs were over 30-years-old with the majority never winning a trophy while at the club. Besides the Bernard Parker, the likes of Daniel Cardoso, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Leonardo Castro and Daniel Akpeyi had never touched any silverware during their careers at the club.

After that, Chiefs invested in players who were either younger or in their prime years, like Ashley du Preez, Zitha Kwinika, George Matlou, Dillon Solomons and Yusuf Maart to name but a few. With new acquisition Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, 24, Given Msimango, 26, and Mduduzi Mdantsane, 28, all proving consistent with Zwane’s strategy. But if news coming out today is anything to go by, he might not be at the club to oversee the second phase of his vision as head coach next season.

According to a source speaking to The Citizen, Zwane might not be on the bench for Chiefs in their last game of the season against Cape Town City.

Chiefs to give Zwane time off?

“What he went through is heavy emotionally and such things take a lot from you especially if you are a local coach, a club legend. He might be given time off and that would mean he would not be there on Saturday when they close off the season.” Said the source.

Zwane has led Chiefs to their record number of losses in a Premier Soccer League history, with 12 after their 1-0 defeat to SuperSport United on Saturday. The club legend was then escorted by police as Amakhosi fans started throwing objects at him as he exited, in ugly scenes. Is this the beginning of the end for Mangethe?
