It seems as though many Orlando Pirates fans have not forgiven Lennon Bacela for missing a sitter against Al Ahly in the 2013 final of the CAF Champions League.

The 40-year-old former striker missed a golden opportunity to equalise for the Buccaneers in the second half. He managed to round-off Al Ahly’s keeper Sherif Ekramy but failed to put the ball into an empty net. That proved costly as Pirates went on to lose 2-0 in Egypt and 3-1 on aggregate.

Since that final, fans have always reminded him of his misses at the club especially against the Red Devils which would have changed the complexion of the game for Pirates.

On Thursday, Bacela was dragged on Twitter after Mr BlackOG asked his followers which player would miss from an obvious goal-scoring position.

This is not the first time Bacela waa dragged on social media.

In December 2021, the former Celtic forward tweeted about the status of SuperSport TV commentators, which led to many soccer fans reminding him of his horrible miss.

“I swear the psl commentators don’t watch the same game we all watching,” tweeted Bacela back then.
