Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are both after English-born forward Leroy Kundai Benyu, who happens to be a free agent.

Leroy Kundai Benyu is currently a free agent after leaving Iceland’s IBV.

Who is Leroy Kundai Benyu?

He has been without a club since January but apparently is now at the centre of an off-season Soweto Derby.

After growing up in England at clubs like Ipswich Town and Glasgow Celtic in Scotland, the 25-year-old Zimbabwean international has caught the attention of Amakhosi and the Buccaneers.

According to Soccer Laduma, the central midfielder is keen on moving to Mzansi after leaving Iceland’s IBV as a free agent in January, where he played 18 games.

Bimenyimana back to work at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs forward Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is expected to returning to training following a lack of suitable offers for his services.

Previously it was reported that the Burundi forward had attracted interest from Ukraine but that interest has gone quiet.

Instead, Bimenyimana is expected back at training with Chiefs.

“With a year left on his contract, Amakhosi were looking to sell or loan him out for the remainder of his contract.” a FarPost report read.

“The Soweto giants are however yet to find a willing club to take him. Many clubs are reluctant to take on Bimenyimana.”

“Caleb is returning to the club after playing well for Burundi in the AFCON qualifier. He’s not taking the overseas offer, so he’s returning to Chiefs for pre-season. It looks like it’ll be tricky to move him this transfer window.” an insider told the publication.
