Globetrotting Mosimane finally responds to Kaizer Chiefs links

South African coach Pitso Mosimane has finally responded to massive speculation linking him with Kaizer Chiefs.

New Al Wahda coach Pitso Mosimane shares all the details regarding speculation and responds to links that he was negotiating with Kaizer Chiefs.

Mosimane was linked with a move to Chiefs just after reports surfaced that he was unpaid for several months in Saudi Arabia at Al Ahli Saudi.

However, there were also reports that he was battling it out with former Young Africans SC coach Nasreddine Nabi for the Chiefs’ managerial role.

Speaking for the first time since the reports linking him emerged, the former Mamelodi Sundowns manager, Mosimane said he is always talking to Chiefs but hasn’t received an offer.

In a television interview with Newzroom Afrika while in South Africa ahead of leaving for the United Arab Emirates, Mosimane confirmed he received a number of offers but rubbished the links with Chiefs.

The South African also reported that the former Bafana Bafana coach, also known as ‘Jingles’ was also courted by Nigerian Football Federation and North African clubs.

“There’s always something everywhere, except in Europe,” said Mosimane.

“No, I never got an offer from Kaizer Chiefs. I speak to Kaizer Chiefs almost all the time and there was never an offer, according to my manager, because I don’t speak to people directly.”

Mosimane was linked with the Amakhosi coaching job as a possible replacement for Arthur Zwane but Nabi remains heavily linked with the hot seat.

MOSIMANE CAN’T REVEAL HOW HE INTENDS TO COACH WAHDA

Despite successfully guiding Ahli to the elite division in Saudi Arabia last season, Mosimane opted to part ways with the club and quickly managed to secure another job in the Gulf region.

Speaking about his contract and ambitions in the UAE, the serial winner and former Al Ahly boss would not say how long he intends to stay with the UAE team, adding that a contract is a piece of paper.

“A contract is a piece of paper, they don’t really matter. Contracts only matter when we have conflict in football, that’s when the contract matters,” he said.

“I was supposed to be in Saudi for one year but with an automatic promotion.”

Together with his South African technical team consisting of Kabelo Rangoaga, Kyle Solomon, Maahier Davids, and Musi Matlaba, they will be expected to bring silverware to the club.

MT Sports Marketing and Management, the company which manages Mosimane said the mission is to bring trophy glory back to the team, which last lifted the UPL in 2009/10, the President’s Cup in 2016/17 and the League Cup in 2017/18.
