Ex-Pirates star Gabuza to reunite with Jali at Swallows?

Information doing the rounds in Mzansi is that ex-Orlando Pirates star Thamsanqa Gabuza could reunite with Andile Jali at Moroka Swallows.

Having already signed seasoned players such as Andile Jali, Moroka Swallows are set to swoop on two former Orlando Pirates star, Thamsanqa Gabuza.

The latest updates reaching The South African reveal that the former Pirates striker Gabuza and Mpho Makola are locked in negotiations with Swallows.

Gabuza recently left SuperSport United where he played under coach Gavin Hunt following his departure from Pirates just before the start of the previous term.

Looking at Makola, he recently left PSL returnees Polokwane City and he is now looking for a club in the South African top flight.

The duo, Makola and Gabuza played with Jali at the Soweto giants, Pirates are now heavily linked with moves to the revived Dube Birds, Swallows.

At the same time, Makola worked with Steve Komphela at Free State Stars before completing his switch to Pirates while Gabuza is known to be a close friend to the former Mamelodi Sundowns star, Jali.

“He (Gabuza) will start training with Swallows soon if he hasn’t started yet because the negotiations are really intense and he may sign this week,” said the source to Phakaaathi.

“You will remember that he is Andile Jali’s best friend and they don’t hide that they would enjoy playing together as they are approaching the age where they will consider retirement.”

 As per the developments taking place at the Dobsonville-based Swallows, it seems the club is determined to build a competitive squad under the seasoned tactician, Komphela.

Off the field of play, Swallows announced a new technical sponsor on Tuesday as they now partner with local lifestyle brand, Drip.

Apart from former Bloemfontein Celtic and TS Galaxy grafter, Lantshene Phalane, the duo has the potential to add significant value to the team’s performance on the field.

SUPERSPORT FINALISING EX-PIRATES STAR’S EXT

The South African reported that the Tshwane-based Matsatsantsa A Pitori were finalising Gabuza’s exit last week.

According to a report by SABC Sport, Sundowns striker Etiosa Ighodaro is on his way to Matsatsantsa where he’s expected to spend the upcoming season on loan.

Ighodaro will join the former MTN8 champions together with midfielder Grant Margeman as part of the deal that will see Thapelo Maseko heading to Chloorkop.

Maseko has since been unveiled by the reigning DStv premiership champions this week.
