Banyana’s Dlamini unfazed by FIFA World Cup opponents

Banyana Banyana goalkeeper Andile Dlamini has vowed to help the national team, revealing that she is unfazed by their FIFA World Cup opponents.

Dlamini said she is ready to die on the field of play as long as they make it to the knockout stages of the prestigious tournament in Australia and New Zealand.

Banyana are in Group G with Sweden, Italy, and Argentina in what is known as a FIFA World Cup group of death, but the 30-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns glovewoman has a different opinion.

BANYANA’S DLAMINI UNFAZED BY FIFA WORLD CUP OPPONENTS

As they are scheduled to get their group stage campaign underway against Sweden on Sunday, the talented net minder, Dlamini said this year’s showpiece presents a different challenge.

The Southern Africans will begin their World Cup campaign against the Swedes at the Wellington Regional Stadium on Sunday morning (SA Time).

“While we acknowledge the experience gained four years ago, this year’s edition presents a different kind of challenge,” Dlamini told Sundowns media.

“There are different hosting countries this time around and the teams in our group are also different. We understand that each tournament has its challenges and opportunities, and we are prepared to adapt and overcome whatever obstacles come our way.

“Our commitment to success remains unwavering and we are ready to give our all-in pursuit of our goals.”

Dubbed the African Queens, Banyana are out to defy the odds at the World Cup tournament and there is no doubt that Dlamini is one of coach Desiree Ellis’ trusted players.

The CAF Women’s African Cup of Nations winner with Banyana, Dlamini revealed her heroine and explained why she is inspired by this football icon.
