Orlando Pirates provide Kapinga and Kimvuidi update!

Two Orlando Pirates players are in line to make their official debuts this afternoon against Djabal FC, the club confirmed.

Orlando Pirates begin their 2023/24 CAF Champions League journey this afternoon when they face Djabal FC.

The Buccaneers made the long trip to the island of Comoros to face Djabal FC on Saturday afternoon.

Today’s match is the first of the two legged tie, with the second leg taking place next weekend in Soweto.

Orlando Pirates provide squad update

“ The change in competition could also mean some changes in playing personnel deployed for the fixture.” – an Orlando Pirates club report read.

“Bucs skipper Innocent Maela could be among those making their first start this season after making brief cameos against Sekhukhune and Chippa United. The fixture could also provide the perfect opportunity for new signings such as Lesedi Kapinga and Karim Kimvuidi, who are yet to debut for the Buccaneers.”

Action at the Stade de Moroni Stadium gets underway at 14:30 this afternoon.

Jose Riveiro opens up on tactical decisions

“Sometimes it’s not rotation, we just change because we need something different or because we play with a moment of form of our players.” Jose Riveiro said as quoted by Citizen.

“We are going to play a different type of game in a different type of environment and there’s going to be adjustments for sure.”

“Because he’s always in the right places like today and today he managed to put the ball in net more times than frequent. So I’m so happy for him, because it’s going to be good for the team, it’s good for Zakhele.

“There is room to improve always. We want to be more consistent going forward like we did today but today is a collective, it’s not only one player.”
