Orlando Pirates new signings have left a lasting impression on head coach Jose Riveiro.

Patrick Maswanganyi opened up his goal scoring account on Friday night against Djabal FC while Katlego Otladisa also put on an impressive performance.

Maswanganyi had a night to remember on Friday night when Jose Riveiro’s side hammered Djabal FC in their CAF Champions League first preliminary round match.

Patrick Maswanganyi made it 2-0 with his first official goal for the club in the 58th minute via a long range strike!

Jose Riveiro heaps praise on new Orlando Pirates signings

“For me, if I have to highlight anything about the new players, new in this environment and playing for Pirates is not an easy thing. Jose Riveiro wary of Djabal threat

“I have this feeling in my stomach that on Friday we are going to compete because we are playing at home.” the Orlando Pirates coach told TimesLive.

“We don’t care so much about the name of the opponent, we go game by game and we have tried to play our best game every time so far this season.”

“I’m happy for the guy. He’s a guy whose always working hard, so it’s good that football is also paying back to him.” the Orlando Pirates coach said regarding Lepasa.

“Because he’s always in the right places like today and today he managed to put the ball in net more times than frequent. So I’m so happy for him, because it’s going to be good for the team, it’s good for Zakhele.

“There is room to improve always. We want to be more consistent going forward like we did today but today is a collective, it’s not only one player.”
