Will Broos play Mobbie or Mudau at the Afcon?

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena says Khuliso Mudau has speed, power and should start for Bafana Bafana.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos will have to make a decision on who he goes with as first choice right-back between Nyiko Mobbie and Khuliso Mudau

For two years, the Belgian coach preferred Mobbie over Mudau but in the last two Bafana matches, the Downs man finally got the nod and started at right back.

Mobbie has never looked convincing for Bafana and fans have pleaded with Broos to give Mudau a chance.

The Sundowns man has not made the right-back position his own though after having a shocking game against Rwanda last year.

Mudau more likely to start for Bafana at Afcon

Bafana’s game against Lesotho should give Broos a chance to see who he’s slot at right-back but the likelihood is that Mudau would start against Mali.

Sundowns coach said Mudau should start for Bafana ahead of Mobbie.“Losing Sailor (Khuliso Mudau) was massive. He defence well, he’s got speed, power and attacks well,” he said.

“I heard Mark Gleeson in commentary in the last match against Orlando Pirates saying it boggles his mind that Sailor is not in the national team and I fully agree with him.

“I fully agree with you, he’s (Mudau) unbelievable, defender of the season and he’s a specimen. His qualities are unbelievable and he’s a little bit like Peter Shalulile on the physical make-up,” Rulani was quoted on Citizen.
