Kaizer Chiefs are set to finally have a representative in the Bafana Bafana setup for the upcoming two international matches.

Kaizer Chiefs are set to finally have a representative in the Bafana Bafana setup for the upcoming two international matches.

Bafana Bafana will host Namibia on Saturday, 9 September before welcoming the DR Congo three days later. Both matches will be played at Orlando Stadium.

Now, having not had any player in Hugo Broos’ squad, Chiefs somewhat became a laughing stock among the football fans.

Broos added fuel to the fire by stating that no Chiefs player deserves a spot in the Bafana Bafana setup from the current squad.

However, SABC Sport reports that Pule Mmodi will join the ongoing Bafana Bafana camp as a replacement for the injured Themba Zwane.

Zwane suffered a head injury in Saturday’s MTN8 first leg semi-final against Chiefs, and therefore won’t be available for selection.

Mmodi, on the other hand, has been on a rise for Chiefs in recent weeks, scoring three goals for his team so far this season.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO FINALLY HAVE A PLAYER IN THE BAFANA BAFANA SQUAD?

“Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is believed to have changed his mind about Kaizer Chiefs players following the injury of Mamelodi Sundowns star Themba Zwane,” reports the publication.

“Now it appears that the Belgian tactician has changed his mind, by recalling Mmodi, who was part of the preliminary squad to replace injured Zwane who suffered a face injury, during the MTN8 semifinals clash against Chiefs on Saturday and was rushed to the hospital before the end of the first half.”
