“Like I said, the national team is not for Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates only,” Masango told iDiskiTimes.

“It’s for everyone eligible to play for Bafana Bafana, irrespective of which club you play for. As long as you’ve got a green ID like you’re registered as a South African citizen, then you stand a chance of playing for Bafana.

“So we can’t just solely say there are no Chiefs players. Whoever is there is representing Bafana Bafana and South Africa at large.”

In other news, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Cole Alexander has reportedly returned to South Africa after concluding a deal with Polokwane City!

The 34-year-old midfielder joined Swedish Helsingborgs IF after his departure from the Glamour Boys.

However his stint in Europe lasted just six months with reports suggesting he has signed a new deal with Limpopo side Polokwane City!

Alexander has made over 280 appearances in the PSL for a host of clubs scoring 16 goals and assisting 11 more and will bring some healthy experience to Rise and Shine.
