Bafana Bafana fans are ‘up in arms’ following a statement released by Chippa United that they are fully behind Nigeria for Wednesday’s clash.

The two powerhouses of African football meet in the first semifinal of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at Stade de Bouake.

Kick-off is at 19:00 SA time.

Now, Chippa United, through chairman Siviwe Mpengesi, said they are rallying behind the Super Eagles because of Stanley Nwabali.

Nwabali, who is on the books of Chippa United, is Nigeria’s No.1 goalkeeper at this AFCON tournament and has been impressive so far.

Mpengesi said while he is a patriotic South African, he’s torn apart given the presence of Nwabali in the Nigerian national team.

NWABALI HAS KEPT FOUR CLEAN SHEETS AT AFCON 2023

Nwabali, 27, has kept four clean sheets in five matches for the Super Eagles at the tournament, and that’s the same as Bafana Bafana’s Ronwen Williams.
