Bafana Bafana squad for COSAFA Cup announced

Orlando Pirates ‘slayer’ and interim Bafana Bafana coach Morena Ramoreboli has named his 23-man squad for the 2023 COSAFA Cup.

After naming a 47-man provisional squad, Ramoreboli had a tough time selecting his final squad as PSL teams gave him a run around.

The majority of regular stats in the PSL are not available after their teams refused to release them for this regional tournament.

However, Ramoreboli still managed to assemble a competitive squad that easily win the COSAFA Cup trophy.

In addition, Bafana Bafana have a man that knows how to win the COSAFA Cup having done that during his month-long tenure in 2021.

What stands out in the squad is that Mamelodi Sundowns are the most represented team with five players although they all fringe stars.

But the presence of the likes of Victor Letsoalo, Lyle Lakay, Bonginkosi Makume, Iqraam Rayners and Sibongiseni Mthethwa should make Bafana Bafana strong.

Also included in the squad is midfielder Thabo Cele who plies his trade in Poland with Radomiak Radom.
