The Bafana Bafana squad is nearing full strength ahead of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Morocco on Saturday, 17 June.

The clash will take place at the FNB Stadium with kick-off set for 17:00.

Coach Hugo Broos trimmed his preliminary squad to 23 players last Friday.

As reported by The South African website, no Kaizer Chiefs players made the final cut.

A number of the overseas-based players have now reported for the training camp, including midfielder Luke Le Roux who plays in Sweden for Varbergs BoIS, and Bongokuhle Hlongwane who is on the books of MLS side Minnesota United FC.

As a reminder, Bafana Bafana have been drawn in Group K for qualifying for the tournament.

The top two sides in each group will progress to the finals to be held in Ivory Coast from 13 January to 11 February 2024.

Zimbabwe were kicked out of the qualification process due to political interference in the sport in the country, leaving just three nations in Group K.

The third side in Liberia.

Morocco have already secured their qualification for the finals and South Africa can join them with a win this weekend.
