Bafana Bafana beat Botswana, go top of Cosafa Cup Group A log

Bafana Bafana registered their first win of the 2023 Cosafa Cup as they beat Botswana 2-1 in their second Group A match on Saturday.

The hosts came from behind late in the second half to ensure they bag all three points and move to the summit of the log.

Botswana were the first to open the scoring through Thatayaone Kgamanyane after the 60th minute but Bafana Bafana came back stronger.

In the 65th minute, Bafana Bafana were awarded a penalty which was converted by Iqraam Rayners a minute later.

It was soon 2-1 to Bafana Bafana as Shaun Mogaila fired in from inside the box after being left alone by Botswana.

The win took Bafana Bafana to four points and on course to qualify for the semi-finals of this year’s tournament.
