Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena shares love and backed his Kaizer Chiefs counterpart and boo boys victim, Molefi Ntseki, saying the sun will rise again.

Mokwena said he could not laugh about all the criticism levelled at Ntseki and stated that any coach can be abused by the fans.

With Sundowns in fine form heading to the MTN8 final this weekend to face Orlando Pirates, he lamented the abuse on Ntseki as he is more experienced than him.

MOKWENA SHARES LOVE WITH BOO BOYS VICTIM NTSEKI

Ntseki is under pressure after replacing Arthur Zwane at Chiefs and this also comes after winning three matches out of nine in the DStv Premiership – they have lost four and drew two.

Chiefs were beaten by Sundowns in the league and in the MTN8 and their latest defeat came at the hands of Cape Town City this week.

“There is an empathetic sense because we have the same profession,” Mokwena told the media per TimesLIVE.

“I am sure he will learn and grow from these situations. Today it is him, tomorrow it is another coach and it could even be me. That’s why you must have some form of empathy and some feeling, but this is our profession and this is what we signed up for. 

“Some people say it with eloquent English that when you pray for the sun, be prepared for the rain — and when the rain comes, be prepared to deal with the mud.

“That’s our profession. We pray to be head coaches of big clubs and when you are head of a big club, you have to be prepared to deal with uncomfortable situations.”

SUNDOWNS COACH ON EXPERIENCE OF ABUSE

The 36-year-old Sundowns mentor said he was speaking from experience and urged the fans to be patient and show love to Ntseki.

“I know because I have been there — I am not talking out of lack of experience of what he is going through. God loves us all and I am sure the sun will shine again for him,” he added.

“He is more experienced than me, he has seen more of these situations than I have and I should be the last person to give him advice.”
