This week, a video has gone viral, showing a young South African schoolboy slotting an incredible long-range kick at a distance of more than 60m.

Taking the kick from close to the touchline, and well within his own half, the teenager executes a stunning shot at goal that raised the flags during a schoolboy game.

It’s a video that even drew the attention of sports icon Kevin Pietersen, with the South Africa-born former England cricketer commenting: “This might be the best goal kick I’ve ever seen on a rugby field. Is it real???!”

He also tagged All Blacks legend Beauden Barrett in the comment, and the former flyhalf replied: “Incredible kick @KP24 – whether it’s at altitude or not.. Someone should use a range finder get the number.”

“Probably a full lob wedge?” he added with a golf reference.

So who is the SA schoolboy making headlines?

According to popular social media user Saffas Rugby, his name is Dylan Stumke, and the grade 10 pupil attends Menlopark High School.

The game took place on Saturday, and saw Menlopark win 17-16. The teenager is also said to have scored a try and a drop goal from also over 50m.
