SPRINGBOKS VS NZ QUARTER-FINAL CAN STILL HAPPEN

At the start of Rugby World Cup 2023, most pundits predicted a Springboks-New Zealand quarter-final.

However, Ireland edged the Boks 13-8 in a titanic battle in Paris. Thus, setting up likely SA-France and NZ-Ireland quarter-finals.

Although, nothing is set in stone and the Boks could still end up taking on the All Blacks.

If the Springboks notch up an expected bonus-point win over Tonga they will end on 15 points. Meaning, if Scotland secure an expected bonus-point winover Romania and then beat Ireland by more than 7, SA will top Group B.

Furthermore, NZ should have no issues beating Italy and Uruguay whilst France are expected to beat Italy.

Therefore, if Scotland beat Ireland by more than 7 or they beat them by any margin and the Boks better them on points difference we could still have a Boks-All Blacks showdown in the QF. If the Scots win by more than 7, Ireland will go home.
