Springbok camp: Squad breakdown by team

The Bulls, who are the highest-placed South African team in the URC, contribute the most players to the Springbok cause.

The Springboks hold their first alignment camp of the 2024 season soon with a large group of players.

Who has the most players in the squad

In the group are 12 players from the Bulls.

A further 11 come from the Stormers and nine from the Sharks.

The Lions have also contributed six players and the Cheetahs one.

Meanwhile four players based in Japan also join the group.

Siya Kolisi, Jasper Wiese, Handre Pollard, Steven Kitshoff, Cheslin Kolbe and more have not been called up do to club commitments overseas.

The four Japan-based players are allowed to join as they are all rehabbing injuries in South Africa.

Uncapped players

There are 16 uncapped players in the group. These men will have an inside line on a Test debut against Ireland or Portugal this winter.

Among the 16 uncapped players are nine forwards as well as seven backs.

The forwards are Neethling Fouche, Johan Grobbelaar, Celimpilo Gumede, Cameron Hanekom, Ruan Venter, Marnus van der Merwe, Ruben van Heerden, Andre-Hugo Venter and also Jan-Hendrik Wessels.

And the seven backs are Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, Suleiman Hartzenberg, Jordan Hendrikse, Quan Horn, Sanele Nohamba, Morne van den Berg and also Morne Van Wyk.
